Solar park De Dreef

The solar park is approximately 11 hectares, where 14 megawatt peak of solar panels will be installed. This is roughly equivalent to the consumption of 3,800 average Dutch households. The panels will have an east-west arrangement.

Challenge for grid capacity in the area
Since there is no grid capacity available in the area during the development phase, the solar park could not be connected to the electricity grid. As a solution to this problem, a cable is laid from Valthermond to solar park Emmen. In this way, solar park De Dreef will be connected to solar park Emmen in a unique way, and yet the solar park will still be able to generate sustainable energy.
