PowerGo and Spirii join forces to roll out large European fast charging network
PowerGo will partner with international charging platform Spirii to enable rapid expansion of the charging network across Europe, providing simple, smart charging solutions for all electric vehicle (EV) drivers. The investment will accelerate the growth and expansion plans of both PowerGo and Spirii, while making charging more accessible. The large-scale rollout has already begun in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Spain.
The partnership is based on a mutual ambition to create a comprehensive charging network with accessible and affordable access for all EV drivers. The plan is to deploy 15,000 charging points in various European markets over the next two years. Of these, more than 8,000 charging points will be high-power charging points, ranging from 150 to 350 kilowatts.
PowerGo expects to install public and semi-public charging points in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, England and Scandinavia. The hunt for locations has begun; focusing on charging hubs, shops and parking facilities. “PowerGo aims to become one of the largest charge point operators in Europe in the coming years. Up-to-date and user-friendly technology is at the heart of our services. In Spirii we have found a partner who guarantees these qualities and makes electric driving easy and fun”, says Jean-Louis Bertholet, CEO of PowerField.
PowerGo will install and operate the charging stations and has chosen Spirii’s open charging platform to ensure an accessible charging and payment experience for all EV drivers. The Spirii Go app gives access to easy charging, multiple payment options and roaming across Europe.
“We are proud to enable a new, expanded charging network across Europe on our charging platform. The partnership with PowerGo ensures flexible and affordable charging across Europe with the best user experience for all EV drivers through our Spirii Go app. This partnership is another huge milestone in our quest to continuously be the market-leading platform for eMobility,” says Tore Harritshøj, CEO of Spirii.
